Barnsley left-back Dani Pinillos believes the players will be refreshed and reinvigorated following the international break.

The Spaniard was able to return home to visit family and friends as Head Coach José Morais afforded those not representing their country a few days respite before taking to the training ground once more.

“It was good because we’re not in a good situation and we need a bit of a rest and to clear our minds - we need to think about what we do now,” said Pinillos.

"For me, it was important because I spent three months away from home, and I was able to go back with my family. Now we have even more energy to play these important games.

“I think everyone is refreshed now. We had two or three days off to clear our minds and to try to understand what we need to do now to win a couple of games and finish this situation.”

Bristol City travel to Oakwell on Good Friday looking to reignite their season after falling out of the play-off places following a poor run of form since the turn of the year.

The Reds, meanwhile, are out of the bottom three on goal difference, and Pinillos feels that results and confidence will improve if the players continue to work hard.

“We need to keep working like we are working and the result will come; I think we will start to win - we just need to win one game to have more confidence about ourselves,” continued the 25-year-old. "We need to work hard and play like we know we can.

“We need to believe in ourselves because if one player doesn’t believe in himself then he can do nothing. We need to start thinking that we are better than we are, and the results will come.”
