Barnsley Head Coach José Morais is pleased with the work that the players have done in training over the international break.
It has been almost a fortnight since the Reds last took to the field, and Morais has had the opportunity to spend a sustained period of time with the squad after a hectic start to his Oakwell career.
“It was fantastic in my opinion; it gave us the opportunity to be together and to grow as a group - this is what we wanted,” said the Head Coach.
"It’s not only a question of playing better, it’s also to feel that you are a better team, a better group - that you are focussed on the right things and that you care about the right things.
“I believe that the players are taking on these messages, and this is the most important thing. What is important is that it’s not only me that believes, but it is important that we share the same beliefs.
"We want to accomplish something together - remarkable things - and this is depending on common values and common beliefs, and this is what the work is about.”

Lee Johnson’s side looked odds on to secure automatic promotion earlier this season, but just three Championship wins in 13 games since the turn of the year has seen the Robins slip out of the play-off spots.
“They are a good team,” continued Morais. "We are a good team, and we are a better team now than we were before. I believe in our possibilities. Everything is about the quality and the capacity to work as a team - are we able to do this? I think we can win every time, in any situation.
“What I believe is that they [the players] have the quality to win, I believe that they have the intention to win - I believe so much in these qualities that I just want them to have the same belief that I have in order for them to understand that if they did it one time, they can do it all the time. It’s a question of having the same mentality.”
