Lacewood Primary School came out on top in a five-a-side futsal tournament between local schools at Oakwell today.
The competition included six teams in a round-robin format, with the winner being decided by the league table after each team had played their five fixtures.
Teams representing Lacewood, Athersley North, Featherstone All Saints, Gooseacre, Hendal and Hoyland Springwood contested the tournament, submitting nine-person mixed squads.
Lacewood sealed the tournament in style by impressively coming out victorious in all five of their games before being presented with winning medals by Reds in the Community coaches.
Runners-up Hendal ran them close, with their only defeat coming against the eventual champions.
Gooseacre came third after recording three wins in what was a competitive tournament with a high quality of football.
The tournament was organised, run and officiated solely by Reds in the Community staff, with the football being played on the outdoor pitches at Oakwell.
Well played everyone!
