Midfielder returns to Austria after six months at Oakwell.
Barnsley Football Club can confirm that 26-year-old Christoph Knasmüllner has joined Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Football Bundlesliga for an undisclosed fee.
Knasmüllner arrived at Oakwell during the January transfer window, making three appearances.
Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye commented: “The deal has been completed after Christoph expressed a desire to go back to his home country. This allows us to use the funds to reinvest in future acquisitions. Although the fee remains undisclosed, I am happy to confirm we made a profit on this transfer and we also retain an interest in the future of Christoph.”
