Barnsley Football Club are delighted to announce a partnership with life-long Barnsley fan and one of Britain’s leading artists, Ben Mosley.
With his work highly collectable and fast becoming internationally recognised, Barnsley FC are pleased to make the long-standing Season Ticket holder the Club’s first ‘Official Artist’.
Having been commissioned to create work for some of the biggest institutions in the world, including Manchester United, McDonalds and Wembley Stadium, Ben has been entrusted with capturing the spirit and history of this great Club through a number of unique pieces of art.
So many human emotions play out in sporting events from joy to sorrow, fear to courage and Ben is excited to capture such feeling at Oakwell in his recognisable, abstract style.
Speaking to barnsleyfc.co.uk, Ben said: “To become the first official artist of Barnsley FC is a terrific honour for me. Barnsley has always been at the heart of my inspiration. We have passionate supporters and a terrific history, to produce work that celebrates our great Club is something I feel very privileged to do. This will always be a special moment for me personally and I will do my best to promote the Club and people of Barnsley throughout my career.”
Throughout the Club’s 130thanniversary year, Ben created seven paintings for ‘Our Club, Our Ground, Our Past, Our Future’ heritage project. He also helped the Club celebrate the milestone further by creating a unique piece, which proudly featured on the commemorative 130thanniversary edition of BE RED, catching the eye of Barnsley FC Finance Director, Rob Zuk.
“We are very fortunate to have such a highly regarded artist amongst our loyal supporter base,” said Zuk. “Ben kindly gave up a great deal of his time to work on Club initiatives throughout the 130thanniversary season and we a looking forward to working with him on some exciting projects throughout the 2018/2019 season and beyond.”
Fans will be able to get their hands on a limited number of prints, dedicated to the past, present and future of Barnsley FC from the Club’s Oakwell store.
