Barnsley Football Club can confirm the signing of Jordan Barnett on a one-year deal.
The 18-year-old, from Penistone, will link up with Martin Devaney in the under 23s this season.
A versatile player who is equally adept at left-back and central midfield, Barnett will bring a combative edge to the side with his energetic and dynamic brand of football.
Formerly of Burnley, the youngster was scouted by the Premier League side while playing for Barnsley Sports Academy and Penistone Church.
“I’m really happy about signing for the Club,” said Barnett. “I got released from Burnley before I came here but Barnsley stepped in and offered me a professional contact straight away so I’m really happy.
“I’m really excited for the coming season; I’ve just come into the Club so I’m excited about meeting all the staff and players and want to make my way from there really.”
