Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Amir Berkovits has signed a one-year contract extension.
The Israeli winger was an influential figure for the under 23s last season, and will be continuing his development with Martin Devaney’s side this campaign.
Fleet of foot and with the ability to beat his man, Berkovits scored three goals in the final two games of the Professional Development League last season against Coventry City and Bristol City, respectively.
“I’m very pleased to have signed a new contract and I’m looking forward to this season, and hopefully breaking into the first team,” said Berkovits. “I just want to keep playing football.
“It was really good playing with the age above me last season; it helped me improve, something that probably wouldn’t have happened in the under 18s, because I was playing with some first team players.
“I hope to play the best football I can play and hopefully get into the first team.”
