Defender departs Oakwell on a permanent basis to join the Tigers.

Barnsley Football Club can today confirm that an offer has been accepted for Angus MacDonald to join Hull City on a permanent deal, for an undisclosed fee.

The defender, who was named Club Captain in the summer of 2017, made 49 appearances for Paul Heckingbottom’s side after joining from Torquay United during the 2016/17 summer transfer window, scoring two goals.

Angus will be remembered fondly for making the step up into full-time professional football and becoming a fan favourite for his last minute equalising goal against Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell. As well as his on-field action, the 25-year-old is well-known for being an exemplary member of the squad off the field with his work with the Barnsley community which saw him awarded the 2016/17 Community Player of the Year.

Everyone at Barnsley Football Club would like to thank Angus MacDonald for his efforts in a Reds’ shirt and wish him the best of luck for his future career.
