The Reds Head Coach previewed Saturday's trip to The Den in his pre-match press conference as the Emirates FA Cup journey begins.
Despite the Third Round draw throwing up a tie against a fellow Championship side, and one the Reds have already played at the same venue this season, when Barnsley were 3-1 winners, Hecky believes that goes out of the window.
"It's the FA Cup," he asserted.
"The furthest I ever got as a player was the Fifth Round. It'd be nice to embark upon a run. It's a great competition with unique history. It's not just here where it's big, it's the same all over the world, it's the FA Cup.
"I've said to the players, reputations have been forged from the competition.
"We'll be going down there as we always do and that's trying to win the game and then who knows who we could face in the next round?"
