The Reds Gaffer spoke to iFollow after today's 1-0 victory that ushered in the New Year.
Hecky was naturally delighted to see his side begin 2018 in fine fettle, admitting it was nice to be able to speak differently post-match, as the Reds finally got that long-awaited three points on the board.
"It feels great," he smiled.
"It's nice to be able to come out, stand here and say something different for a change! Because the performances of late have been very similar, and again today it was a massively dominant 1-0 in my eyes.
"But we could have made it a lot easier for ourselves if we'd took the other three or four good chances we created.
"But of course, I'm really pleased with the win, we deserved it but again, there's still areas we need to improve."
