Fans vote for midfielder to win the Palmer Civils POTM award.
Gary Gardner has been awarded the Palmer Civils Player of the Month trophy for January after Reds fans voted unanimously for the 25-year-old midfielder following many impressive performances.
Joining the Club on a season-long loan deal from fellow Sky Bet Championship side Aston Villa, Gardner has now established himself as a regular starter in the heart of the Barnsley midfield after a stop-start beginning to his time at Oakwell through injury.
Gardner has now played 16 times and offers an experienced approach to his game, with a forward thinking nature helping to create chances for his attacking colleagues. Fans have continued to be impressed with the ever growing reputation of the former England U21 midfielder and have recognised this with this award.
