Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Romal Palmer and Will Smith have joined Darlington FC on a 28-day youth loan.
The U23s pairing, both 20-years-old, will link up with former Reds’ striker Tommy Wright at Blackwell Meadows and will be immediately available for the busy festive schedule.
Darlington are currently 17th in the Vanarama National League North and face high-flying Altrincham at the weekend as they look to pick up a first win since 30 October.
Smith made his Barnsley debut earlier this campaign, coming on as a second half substitute and impressing at the heart of defence as the Reds beat Bradford City 2-1 in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Midfielder Palmer, who scored the second goal on Monday afternoon as the U23s beat Leeds United, was on the bench for the Reds last season for our FA Cup fixture against Millwall.
Everyone at Barnsley FC wishes Romal and Will the best of luck in their temporary move. You can keep up to date with their progress in our loan round-up.
