23-year-old joins the Reds on an initial loan until January, before his move will be made permanent!
Barnsley Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old Cauley Woodrow from Premier League side, Fulham FC.
After agreeing to join the Reds on a permanent contract from January 2019 after his initial loan-spell, Woodrow will bring pace, power and goals to a Barnsley forward line that has already found the back of the net 10 times in the opening four matches of the season.
With 100 senior appearances under his belt and over 70 of those coming in the Sky Bet Championship, Woodrow brings a wealth of knowledge to the Reds as they look to mount a challenge towards promotion this season.
As well as having plenty of Football League experience, the striker has been capped throughout the England youth sytem at U17, U20 and U21 levels, regularly scoring for his country along the way.
Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye told barnsleyfc.co.uk: “We’re delighted to secure a player of the calibre of Cauley. This transfer shows the level of ambition from the owners towards the club, in securing someone of Cauley’s ability. As well as us wanting him, Cauley wanted to join us. He’s turned down other offers in a higher division to come here and that’s exactly what we want to see at Oakwell.”
