Barnsley Football Club will host an open press conference for ‘The Homecoming’ on Thursday 2nd August, from 6pm in the Legends Suite at Oakwell.
World, national and local media have been invited to report on the event as we build up to the big fight on October 5th, and we’re inviting fans to come along as well and ask their questions!
Headlining the bill will be Josh Wale in his pursuit of a World Title belt. Josh is a name that will be recognisable to fans of Barnsley Football Club, as he’s often with his son on the terraces supporting the Reds and has been presented on the pitch with previous title belts on his shoulder!
Along with Josh, another well-known face in Robbie Barrett will be there as he looks to secure the vacant IBF European Lightweight title! Fellow Barnsley-boxer Andy Townend will be looking to beat Atif Shafiq in what will be a tense encounter as the pair battle it out for a shot at the British Lightweight title in the final eliminator.
The Club wants to fully support local boxers and of course fans of the club on their journey to success, and we want fans to come out and back them too before the big night at the Barnsley Metrodome on October 5th.
