Travelling Reds Visit Oakwell

17 April 2018

Two dedicated families travelled from America and Australia to enjoy their very own Oakwell stadium tours on Friday.

Paul Clifford and his son Dylan embarked on a mammoth 10,500-mile journey from Melbourne to watch three Reds games, the last of which was our 2-2 draw with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Mr Clifford has supported Barnsley for more than 30 years and surprised Dylan with their Reds’ stadium tour as they may not be back in Britain again.

Andy Heath visited South Yorkshire with his wife and three children after travelling almost 3,500 miles from New Jersey to visit relatives.

The children, all under the age of ten, follow Barnsley avidly from the United States and, despite living in America for the past two decades, Mr Heath has still managed to return home on several occasions to watch his beloved Reds.

The Heath family flew back home to America before our game with the Trotters, but were delighted to experience Oakwell on their excursion.

Both families were able to take in all the sights at Barnsley Football Club, including the hospitality lounge, dressing rooms and even took a walk pitch side.

All at Barnsley FC would like to wish both families well and hope they return to Oakwell soon!
