Reds fans are reminded of changes to the first team schedule.
The one remaining Round Two fixture of this season’s Carabao Cup between Barnsley and Derby County is to be moved to Tuesday 12 September at Oakwell, with the winner of the tie progressing to face Tottenham Hotspur in Round Three.
The switch requires the following Sky Bet Championship matches scheduled to take place on Tuesday 12 September to be re-arranged for a future date.
Derby County v Ipswich Town
Reading v Barnsley
A date for the match with Reading has yet to be finalised but all supporters will be made aware as soon as this happens.
The EFL would like to apologise to the Clubs involved and importantly the supporters of those teams involved for any inconvenience caused.
However, the need to move the tie forward a week is required due to limited flexibility in the fixture schedule alongside the fact that the winners of the Round Two tie have been drawn against Tottenham Hotspur, who have the added complication of being involved in four competitions, including the Group Stages of the Champions League.
Barnsley Football Club will confirm all ticket and fixture details when confirmed - We echo the apologies from the EFL regarding these fixture changes and are sorry for any inconvenience suffered.
