Reds in the Community will be starting a brand new Ultra Violet football initiative, with funding from the Premier League!

Reds in the Community will be starting a brand new Ultra Violet football initiative, with funding from the Premier League!

Delivered as part of the Premier League Girls scheme, this new and exciting programme, aimed specifically at females aged 11+, will allow them to try a new style of football in a vibrant environment.

It also gives everyone taking part the chance to boost their confidence and meet loads of new people in the process.

And simply for attending the session, you will receive match ticket vouchers to watch Barnsley FC in action at a home league match of your choice!

We are proud to be the first organisation in Barnsley that will regularly host a UV football session specifically for girls.

RITC’s Women and Girls development officer Poppy Brennan explained why the charity has decided to launch the initiative.

She said: “This session is the first ever female only UV session in Barnsley and has been designed specifically to be inclusive towards females of all abilities.

“Females should not have to worry about their image when taking place in sport and this is the perfect opportunity and initiative to prove that.

“We want to encourage them to come and have fun in this new environment and help make the initiative a success.”

The first session will cost just £1 and all participants will receive a free Barnsley FC ticket and will start on Thursday, 5 October at Barnsley Academy School, Farm Road, Worsbrough, S70 3DL, running from 7:15pm – 8:30pm.
