#RedsInOnePlace

3 November 2017

Barnsley FC’s official digital platforms have been relaunched, unifying across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and barnsleyfc.co.uk not only to strengthen a consistent brand image and positively influence brand recognition, but also to bring fans closer to the Club whilst providing an improved service.

With the simple and identifiable name of @BarnsleyFC, our accounts will now be easier to find across the platforms, ensuring a consistent digital presence, with content bringing supporters closer to the Reds than ever before, helping you to fully understand your Football Club.

If you already follow us on all accounts, don’t change anything! Your support will automatically be transferred over to @BarnsleyFC. But if you aren't one of our 214,000+ digital followers and want to know more, take a look for yourself and follow us;

 As a Club, we want to continue building an emotional attachment with fans and to celebrate the #RedsInOnePlace campaign we hid five Barnsley FC related items around the town centre, and posted clues of where certain items were across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using our @BarnsleyFC account.

Our lucky winners were encouraged to snap a photo before sending it to our new Twitter handle, @BarnsleyFC!  The aim of the competition was to reach and inform fans of the name change, whilst involving everyone in the Barnsley area, giving fans a special opportunity to engage with the Club and win some amazing prizes!

The competition has been deemed a success, with fans flocking across town to specific sites as soon as clues were posted on Twitter and Facebook, in hope of claiming the selected prize!

Chief Executive, Gauthier Ganaye fully supports the #RedsInOnePlace decision.

“Brand identity is key, it is what makes us different from others, it is what makes us unique. There are a few BFC's in British football but there is only one Barnsley FC!

“Therefore centralising our social media under the name Barnsley FC is naturally the first step towards strengthening our brand image and expanding it digitally.

“This relaunch is following our recent decision to re-group all content regarding our official store and box office only on our Official Club accounts to assure a better visibility of our offer and to improve the service that we propose to our fans.

“To celebrate this relaunch we have built an innovative and engaging campaign #RedsInOnePlace via our different social media platforms, this campaign explains our strategy and rewards our fans for their tremendous support! We hope to see even more of you following us on social media!"

The Club would like to extend it's gratitude towards Barnsley FC supporter, voice and celebrity Shaun Dooley who contributed his time and effort towards helping this campaign progress.
