23s REPORT: Barnsley 2-2 Nottingham Forest

3 November 2017

It was an entertaining affair down on the Oakwell training pitch this afternoon with both sides giving 100%.

Amir Berkovits and Kane Swinburn were both denied by the Forest 'keeper in the first 20 minutes before the visitors took the lead against the run of play.

A free-kick on the edge of the box looped in and over Jake Greatorex after a deflection in the Reds wall.

Barnsley responded well but had to wait until the second half to equalise.

It was on 51 minutes when Stevie Mallan fired home from just inside the box.

Three minutes later and Mallan doubled his and his sides tally when his free-kick on the edge of the box curled inside the near post for 2-1.

Forest grabbed a leveller on the hour mark when their striker fired in a rebound after the initial strike came back off the crossbar.

Both sides went for the winner but after a horrific collision in the last minute which saw the Forest 'keeper injured with what looked a broken arm, the referee blew for full time as they'd made all three subs.

FULL TIME: Barnsley 2-2 Forest

Reds: Greatorex (GK); Smith, Lund, Fielding, Williams; Swinburn, Wolfe, Mallan, Berkovits (Slew); Rowe (Brown), Adeboyejo.
