The Reds have confirmed four friendly opponents for the summer of 2017.
Paul Heckingbottom’s side have had four of their pre-season opponents confirmed, with some tough clashes both at Oakwell and away from home.
Further fixtures are expected to be announced in due course.
A trip to local National League side Guiseley AFC will kick-off the run of matches, before the Reds head to the Lincolnshire coast, taking on Sky Bet League Two side Grimsby Town. Former Reds striker Paul Wilkinson is now a member of the coaching staff with The Mariners following a brief spell back at Oakwell in the 2015/16 season as the U23s Head Coach.
The Reds’ first scheduled home friendly will see them battle with Coventry City, who have now dropped to Sky Bet League Two following relegation last term.
Following the home match with Coventry, the Reds will take on a further away trip by visiting Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.
Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom commented, “We’ve put together a testing schedule that will give the lads the workout they need ahead of the league season starting. We’ve kept the games relatively local, which gives the fans an opportunity to watch the players in action as well so I am pleased about that. I’d like to thank all the Club’s we are facing for the planned matches and I look forward to the games.”
