Kay leaves Oakwell on-loan to gain some vital first team football with league leaders AFC Fylde, who have been flying and currently sit top of the National League North this season.
Having joined the Reds from the West Coast of England based side, Kay made his first team Barnsley debut this season when he started the 2-2 draw at Oakwell with Bristol City.
The battling central midfielder has put in excellent performances for the U23s side and the Club, along with Josh, felt this was an excellent opportunity to gain some vital first team minutes and help his former Club towards promotion.
