Gethin Jones spoke to the media after seeing his side defeated away from home for the first time since he joined the Club back in January.
Jones started and finished the match before giving his thoughts following the full-time whistle.
“It’s a hard one to take in the end, we did well in the first half with our pressing like we had worked on all week, looking to press onto them. Then we got the early goal in the second half, but to concede two sloppy goals like that straight after has made us all come off disappointed.
“We knew they would come out at as quickly second half as they had changed their formation at half-time and we adapted to that. We’d had a chat at half-time saying that we needed to get at them a bit more, because we had some good chances first half but nothing came of it.”
Just after half-time the Reds took the lead with Matty James heading home from a Marc Roberts long throw. That lead only lasted momentarily however as Tom Ince pulled the home side level within minutes.
“It was a really good goal from Jameo (Matty James) that we had worked on in training so we were pleased with that but then we sat back too much. It’s really frustrating to do that then concede so quickly. We had backed off a little bit and they came at us but we should have played safe for five or ten minutes then got at them again. To concede a goal so quickly after we had scored left us really unhappy. After their goals we got at them well again and piled on the pressure but just couldn’t break through.”
Gethin was then asked his feelings on how the Reds can progress throughout the remaining games of the season, starting with Queens Park Rangers away on Tuesday night.
“We’ve still got loads of games to go and we’ll just take it game by game. We’ve got a big one on Tuesday away to QPR so we are looking forward to that one now.
“From where we’ve come from last season we have no real pressure on us we’re just doing well this season. The reason I came here is because I was really happy with where the Club had come from in League One last season and the way they had been playing this season made me really look forward to coming here.
“We just need to go out there and keep doing well like we do. We work hard in training and in games we all give 100% effort wise, so we all know that if that carries on then the results will show in the games. We’ll have a good recovery session now and get ready for Tuesday.”
