Donate, March Or Pedal To Raise Funds For Prostate Cancer UK!

10 March 2017

Saturday’s game against Ipswich Town has been designated as our ‘Prostate Cancer UK Matchday’, with activities taking place at Oakwell to help the fight against a disease that will affect 1 in 8 men.

On Saturday we are delighted to welcome Prostate Cancer UK to Barnsley Football Club. Volunteers will be collecting funds outside the ground so please give generously. With the money raised today at Oakwell Stadium fans will be joining the fight to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.

As well as welcoming the EFL’s official charity partner to the ground today, Barnsley fans can continue their support by donating online by CLICKING HERE to take Barnsley Football Club to the top of the Prostate Cancer UK leaderboard.

We are also proud supporters of our growing team of cyclists who will be taking part in Prostate Cancer UK and the EFL’s Football to Amsterdam bike ride this year.

The group of football fans will be riding 145 miles over two days from either London or Barnsley to Amsterdam. They will be joining 500 football fans, staff and legends of the game in the pedal-pilgrimage that takes place on 9-11 June.

After marching his beloved Hartlepool United to Wembley Stadium last year, Jeff is on the move again, kicking off at St James Park in Exeter and finishing at St James’ Park, Newcastle.

By the time he reaches the Magpies’ ground on 16 June 2017, he will have walked almost 400 miles, visiting 40 clubs on the way, including Oakwell.

Whether you walked last year or you are new to his 2017 challenge sign up for Jeff Stelling’s March for Men and help stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Prostate Cancer UK is the Official Charity Partner of the English Football League and a team of volunteers will be raising money for the charity at Oakwell on Saturday, so please support them where you can. Prostate cancer kills one man every hour in the UK and volunteers work hard throughout the year to support the 250,000 men currently affected by the disease in the country. And as well as giving generously, you yourself can get involved. Find out more at www.prostatecanceruk.org.
