Angus MacDonald Sets Off For Paris!

14 June 2017

The Reds defender is taking on an epic 200 mile cycle in aid of Epilepsy Research UK, with best mate Tom Anderson.

An extensive campaign of fundraising has seen Barnsley players, staff and fans come together to support Angus’ epic journey from the streets of London to the bright lights of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The defender will begin the trip at 9am on Thursday 15th June, cycling 110 miles on his first day with fellow rider Tom, before the pair embark on the next 90 miles on Friday 16th June which will see them arrive in Paris.

The reason for the bike ride taking place is for Angus’ sister, Sophie, who suffers with Epilepsy as Angus explained: “The tagline we’ve been using throughout the whole fundraising has been #ForYouSis which is the reason I first wanted to fundraise, but overall it’s not just for her as this is something many people suffer with, so it is for them as well.

“The Club have been great at supporting me and they have said they will keep everyone updated about our trip. There are a few people I need to thank, from sponsors to friends and everyone else so a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me in the build-up and I will definitely make sure I put a full message out once we get there!

"A bientôt à Paris!”
