Paul Heckingbottom spoke with the press at Oakwell earlier today.
The Reds take on local rivals Rotherham United at the New York Stadium on Saturday in what will be the final friendly of pre-season.
The Reds Gaffer feels he's seen good things and bad during the summer, as he attempts to shape his squad ahead of what he describes as a 'big season'.
"It's going to be a big season for everyone. A big season for players who were here last year, a big season for the players stepping up, a big season for the younger lads or ones who couldn't break into the first team last season. We're in the Championship, it's always a big challenge.
"And we still know we need more bodies. We're still working on bringing a few more in. These deals aren't dead and ideally we'll get them in before the first game of the season so we can get working with them straight away.
"It's all about preparation and getting ourselves ready for that challenge."
