Bradshaw: "Everyone is hard-working and on the same wavelength."

13 February 2017

Reds forward Tom Bradshaw spoke to the media ahead of the clash against Aston Villa tomorrow night.

Bradshaw was asked how the Reds have performed in recent matches, with the forward specifically mentioning the two most recent matches against Preston at home and Reading away.

He said, “I think they’ve gone really well. We have been unlucky with some performances, I think it was a tough game last Saturday against Preston where we were unlucky to only get a point and equally it was a tough game against Reading but I felt we performed really well. It is a tough place to go, they are flying but on another day we could have scored two or three goals.

“I think if you had asked most people before Saturday they would have taken a point, but like I say as the game went on I felt like we could win as we were chucking people forward, we had quite a few chances and on another day we would have put one in. I think we left there feeling a bit disappointed not to take three points.”

The Reds sit 10th in the league ahead of tomorrow night’s trip to Aston Villa. Although the ethos at the Club is to take one game at a time, Bradshaw does believe that there are play-off chances for his side.

“Everyone at the Club believes that we should be up there. Our performances throughout the season have been very good, generally. Obviously we’ve lost a lot of players throughout the season as well so to keep that stability and have results ticking over with points on the board is all positive. To still be within touching points of the play-offs at this stage of the season I think is very encouraging.

“We lost some key players throughout the season which is difficult but we have replaced them with just as good. Alex (Mowatt) coming in was unfortunate with the red card on his debut but he is a very good player. We’ve got a lot of good players who have come in, so I think we’ve kept it stable and kept getting results.”

Following back-to-back clean sheets and some good performances throughout the campaign, the Reds are now pressing to see how hard

“Everyone is hard working and on the same wavelength in terms of the tactical side to the game and all the lads that have come in are just as hungry as the lads were who left. I think myself and a lot of others at the Club have gained invaluable experiences at this level now, which is experience not many of us had coming into this season.

“I think it’s now all about learning the league. My goal record over the years is proven that I will score regular goals. My return isn’t as much as I would have hoped for at this stage of the season but I feel like I am improving with every game, my all round game is improving with the Gaffer and the Coaching Staff so hopefully the ball will start to hit the net a bit more often for me now.”
