Reds fall to first defeat in three away at the R’s.
Paul Harsley’s side travelled to face Queens Park Rangers U23s away this afternoon at their Harlington training ground complex. Despite coming back from two behind, a late winner for the home side gave them the points.
QPR raced into an early lead through Daniel Rowe who turned home a cross from Ryan Manning. This lead was kept the whole way through the half despite some good attacking play from both teams, who were eager to score at all opportunities.
HALF TIME: QPR 1-0 Reds
The second half began in similar fashion to the first with QPR doubling their lead, as Dan Darbyshire profited from a rebound to head into the back of the net, making it 2-0.
With 30 minutes or so remaining, Harsley’s side were sparked into life as on-trial striker Victor Adeboyejo fired into the top corner, pulling a goal back and giving his side the momentum.
That momentum showed and the Reds really were in the ascendency, getting a deserved equaliser. It was Adeboyejo again who scored it, by pressurising and forcing the defence into a mistake before capitalising to draw his side level.
However, the hosts were to have the last word. With both teams looking for a winner, Ryan Manning picked up the ball and unleashed an effort from the edge of the box which found the back of the net and continued the R’s winning start to the campaign.
