The Reds take on Portsmouth tonight in the Premier League Cup!
The match will take place at Havant & Waterlooville’s Westleigh Park on Monday 12th September with a scheduled 7pm kick-off. Entry for the match is priced at £5 for all supporters.
Following an excellent 3-1 victory over Ipswich Town last Friday on the Oakwell surface, confidence is high.
Goals in that match from Omari Patrick, Jake Charles and Jacob Brown gave the Reds their first three points of the new league campaign, in a match they dominated from start to finish. Howarth will be travelling down to the South-Coast with no new injury concerns to his squad.
The competition was previously known as the Under 21s Premier League Cup, but has been changed and adopted a new style for this season.
There are eight groups consisting of four teams. If the Reds progress they will go into Group D, alongside Norwich City, Everton and Wolves.
Barnsley would then play all three teams home and away with the top two teams progressing to the knock-out stages.
