Cole Kpekawa spoke to the assembled media today ahead of tomorrow night's game against Aston Villa at Oakwell.
Signed from Queens Park Rangers before the transfer window shut, the tall and pacey defender has been involved in the last two matches and feels he’s settled well at the Club.
He said: “It’s been good to get games recently, that’s why I came here, to play games but obviously I’d wanted to start out with a win but it wasn’t to be.
“But it’s been good here so far, I’m enjoying it. All the lads have been good to me, I’ve been here a few weeks now and I feel settled and part of the group.”
Cole believes the fact that it’s a very young squad at Paul Heckingbottom’s disposal has helped him personally in terms of finding his feet and moving to the area.
“I’ve found a place in Leeds so I’m local which helps of course. Most of the boys are too and they’ve helped me to settle in. It's a young group and that helps I think, we all have similar interests and goals. The move itself happened pretty quickly to be honest so I jumped at the chance, it’s what I wanted. I just want to play.”
In his first two appearances for the Reds he has been up against two of the best wingers in the division, and Kpekawa knows it won’t get any easier in the Championship.
“We take each game as it comes. If you lose you can’t feel sorry for yourself, the games are coming thick and fast and you have got to be ready for them.
“Aston Villa are a massive club in this division and tomorrow night is going to be a good test for us but if I’m playing then I’m going to enjoy it. This is why we are in the Championship, this is what it’s for, these big games and I hope we do well.”
