Reds 'keeper Adam Davies gets international recognition with Wales!
Wales Head Coach Chris Coleman has today added the Reds stopper into his squad for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
Barnsley’s numbers one goalkeeper Adam Davies has been part of the Wales set-up for some time, having been on stand by and training with the Wales squad on numerous occasions. He now makes the step up with a full international call-up and will be available for selection for the upcoming qualifiers against Austria and Georgia
Following a fantastic promotion winning season last term and a scintillating start to this Sky Bet Championship campaign, Davies has been rewarded for his fine form and has been given the call-up he deserves.
With three clean sheets to his name already this season and a string of match winning saves, Davies has been a major contributing factor towards the Reds superb start which see’s Paul Heckingbottom’s side sitting in the top half of the Sky Bet Championship.
The Euro 2016 Semi-Finalists will face Austria away on Thursday 6th October, before returning to Cardiff to face Georgia on Sunday 9th October.
Following the announcement of his Reds teammate Tom Bradshaw also joining up with the Wales squad today, Davies becomes the third Red to leave on international duty with Adam Armstrong also linking up with the England U20s.
