Ivan Toney re-joined the Reds today, signing from Newcastle United on loan until the end of the season.
Speaking about the move exclusively to barnsleyfc.co.uk, the highly-rated 20-year-old striker said, "It's great to be coming back into a strong side who are flying at the moment, so hopefully I can bring something extra to the team and keep them going forward. From my first spell here I know the surroundings and the area really well, so this helps me to settle back in and hit the ground running. Knowing some of the players is a big bonus - there are a few new faces but I'll get to know them quickly and work well with them for the remaining games.
Barnsley are a great side, a great bunch of lads, all young talented footballers and I'm looking forward to being part of that. I've enjoyed being back out there training with the lads this morning and I'm really looking forward to matchday tomorrow - I'm raring to go. It's feels great that Paul and Tommy wanted me back here and I'm delighted to return, so I just can't wait to get some goals and repay them and the fans. Since I've been back to Newcastle I've managed to get a few appearances off the bench both in the Premier League and Capital One Cup, so I can add that experience to my game and hopefully that will benefit the team here. The fans were brilliant with me when I was here before, so I'm going to be working hard to repay them, give them 100% in every game and continue what is turning into a great season for the Club."
