2016/17 Match Ticket Prices Confirmed.

20 July 2016

Five match categories introduced for the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship Season.

Further to Monday’s announcement regarding changes to match ticket categories, we can now confirm ticket prices for 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship league games at Oakwell.

We have adopted a ticket pricing approach which is reciprocal as far as possible with other Championship clubs. This gives us the best opportunity to compete in the Championship, whilst giving supporters the opportunity to benefit from reciprocal pricing.  This means that fans will have the opportunity is some cases to watch Championship football at a lower price than League One matches last season.  In other cases, it will be higher where opposition clubs have indicated their intent to charge our away fans more than we have sought in representations to them.  We are not permitted by the regulatory authorities to differentiate in pricing between those home and away supporters.  We have sought to protect throughout young supporters who will see no increases next year at any match.  There will be a total of five price categories – A*, A, B, C, D – with each home league fixture to be designated a specific price category.  The categorisation will not necessarily be based on the attractiveness, but more in relation to the extent to which we can agree an equivalent price with our opposition clubs. Category A* games will have the highest priced tickets and we expect these to be very few.  Category D prices are pitched lower than last season and Category C are broadly equivalent with last year.

For the coming season, ticket prices will be made consistent across all areas of Oakwell Stadium. Therefore ticket prices will be the same in the North, East, South and West Stands.

The full list of 2016/17 match ticket prices is as follows:

Today we can also confirm the designated categories for our upcoming home league games in August and September, as follows:

• Reds vs Derby County, Saturday 13th August: CATEGORY B
• Reds vs Queens Park Rangers, Wednesday 17th August: CATEGORY C
• Reds vs Rotherham United, Saturday 27th August: CATEGORY C
• Reds vs Reading, Saturday 17th September: CATEGORY D
• Reds vs Aston Villa, Tuesday 27th September: CATEGORY A

Representatives of the Club will be meeting with fan groups over the next few weeks to explain the new match ticket pricing arrangements in more detail and elicit views.
