The striker alerted the attention of several Football League clubs after a fantastic first half of the 2015/16 season with the Shaymen.
At 24 years old, the striker has his best years ahead of him and the Club are delighted he has chosen the Reds over several other interested parties.
With 12 goals to his name at The Shay before joining the Reds, a delighted Tuton told barnsleyfc.co.uk, "I'm over the moon, obviously.
"I've been stepping up over the past couple years from Evo-Stik to the Conference, within five months to get a move to a big, League One Club is great.
"When I first heard, I was sat waiting and heard a few rumours, when my agent said it was finalised I couldn't wait to get over and sign."
The striker has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Oakwell, with an option for a further year.
