Barnsley Football Club is pleased to welcome midfielder Josh Kay to Oakwell from AFC Fylde.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on an 18-month contract with the Reds, having graduated from Fylde's youth system.
An energetic, box-to-box midfielder, Kay will join up with Paul Heckingbottom and Martin Devaney's development group.
"I'm delighted to join such a big club like Barnsley and can't wait to get going," Josh told barnsleyfc.co.uk
"I know Barnsley give opportunities to younger players and I'll aim to grab my chance when it comes along.
"I'd like to thank everyone connected with AFC Fylde for helping me to where I am today.
"This is a very exciting new chapter in my career and I'm determined to work really hard to make it a success."
Head of Academy Recruitment, Bobby Hassell, added "Josh came to the club's attention a while ago. We've monitored his progress and liked what we saw.
"We invited him for a trial where he impressed to the point of us wanting to sign him.
"He'll be a useful member of our development squad and we're looking for him to push on."
