Bradshaw: "We’ve got a really good group of talented lads."

17 December 2016

Reds forward Tom Bradshaw gave his thoughts to the media after playing an excellent role in the Reds stunning 4-3 victory away at Cardiff City.

The front-man ran tirelessly all match, chasing every loose ball and created space for his teammates, never giving the Bluebirds defence any time at the back.

Speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Bradshaw gave his thoughts on the game.

“We were disappointed to let our initial 3-1 lead slip, but that’s what Cardiff are good at, they are good from set-pieces and being direct, they have the right personal for it and they made us pay with two goals to get back to 3-3. I think we showed unbelievable character to get back on the front foot and to look to get the win and that’s what we did.

“We’ve got a really good group of talented lads, not just in our starting eleven but also on the bench and even the unfortunate one’s who didn’t make the bench today. There is talent all the way through the squad, we are a very young squad, I think the youngest in the division and I think we are showing some great character for our age. To pick up three wins out of four in the Championship is a brilliant return.”

Bradshaw has found the back of the net three times for the Reds season, most recently in the win over Norwich City at Oakwell. Like all strikers, the Reds number 20 wants to score more but he feels that as long as he is contributing towards the side getting three points, he’s happy.

“Obviously as a striker I want to get more goals, the more the better, but if I can contribute to the team winning which I felt I have done in the past three or four weeks, I am happy with that and if we keep putting three points on the board I think the Gaffer will be happy as well.”

Tom was then asked how he feels life in the Championship has gone so far for the Reds and himself, following his summer move to Oakwell.

“What I wanted to do first and foremost was play in the Championship, get experience in the Championship and this is a brilliant Club to come to, as we have a great squad and a talented bunch of lads.

“It’s a high level and the standard is a lot higher, you’ll struggle to find teams in this division nowadays that haven’t been in the Premier League these days at some point. It’s invaluable experience and I am just trying to improve every day.”
