Exclusive Interview With Patrick Cryne Now Available On Barnsley Player HD.

16 August 2016

Barnsley Football Club custodian Patrick Cryne exclusively spoke to the Club about all matters on and off the pitch.

The topics covered by Patrick ranged from John Stones, Mason Holgate and incoming transfers, to the Reds performances on the pitch and targets for the season ahead.

Patrick reflected on the beginning to the new campaign, “I think the Derby performance was extremely good. Anyone who was here to witness that would see the total commitment of the players to get a result out of that game so I am absolutely delighted.

“I think we need to look forward, the first game of the season we played well but the result wasn’t right, but Saturday we got the performance and the result and I think we want to take that kind of performance into the game against Queens Park Rangers.”

With the season now underway and the Reds proving they are more than a match for the top teams in this division, Patrick then stated what he believed to be the target for the season.

“Anything beyond survival would be a good result because of the competitive nature of the division and because of the financing that exists within the Championship which means that a lot of Premiership exile Clubs have got big parachute payments and some other very big club’s in there with extremely strong finances, stronger than ours.

“So I think we’ll do better than everyone expects, and from my perspective if we can get up well and clear of the bottom three that would be a satisfactory outcome for this season and a platform for the next.”
