Lee Johnson's Blackpool Reaction

19 September 2015

Reds Head Coach Lee Johnson gave his thoughts on today's 1-1 draw at Blackpool.

"We were dominant in the first half without having enough opportunities on goal," he said.

"Second half, they threw caution to the wind. We got into some great areas but didn't quite have the final ball or end product to finish.

"Overall, it was probably a fair result but I was disappointed to lose the lead but this is what you get with a young group.

"I thought Redshaw was dangerous when he came on.

"They obviously went from a 4-1-1 to a diamond formation which means we should kill them in wide areas. I asked our players to switch the ball quickly and we didn't quite do that.

"We've been run off for the goal which I'm disappointed in the midfield.

"We had the opportunities but not the gumption in the final third.

"I said to the lads at half time that they were enjoying it too much for my liking because everybody was wanting the same ball. It wasn't penetrative enough. It was something I wanted to address. We should have been done and dusted by half time.

"Most of our players played well. It wasn't a case of players not playing well."
