Barnsley midfielder Ben Pearson has warned that Blackpool will be looking to cause a major upset by beating the Reds this weekend.
With just one win under their belts so far this term, Ben knows the seaside outfit are not to be taken lightly.
“Blackpool have got to pick up points eventually from somewhere and I’m sure they will be looking to beat us at home on Saturday.
“We will have a game plan and we have some good players, I’m sure we’ll cause them some problems as well.”
The central midfielder is in the dark about some aspects of Blackpool’s play but feels the Bloomfield Road outfit can challenge if they hit their stride.
“I know last season they struggled. Joe Rothwell was there last season but he didn’t play much. This season, I’m sure they’ll be looking to push on.”
Pearson will be lining up against some familiar faces on Saturday and he knows that the Tangerines are a livelier side with them at their disposal.
“I know centre-back Lloyd Jones and striker Kwame Thomas on-loan from Derby. They have got a bit of firing power with him.
“They have brought in a few good loan players that I know and they will be good in this league and I’m sure they will be a good side eventually.”
