Barnsley Football Club is delighted to confirm defender Lewin Nyatanga has extended his stay at Oakwell, despite interest from several Championship Clubs.
The Club is delighted to retain one of last year's star performers after fighting off interest from elsewhere and is incredibly excited to be working with Lewin for a further two years.
The central-defender has signed a new, two-year contract which keeps him with the Reds until the summer of 2017.
The Welsh international enjoyed a solid campaign last term, making 51 appearances and scoring five goals.
His form at Oakwell last season saw him earn the Players' Player of the Year Award.
Speaking to Barnsley Player after signing his new contract, the 26-year-old said, "I'm really pleased to get everything sorted and I'm looking forward to next season.
"I think it's going to be a big season for the Club and an exciting one as well."
