With 299 appearances for Barnsley, Bobby was pleased to arrange his first club Mansfield Town as opponents for his celebration match on Saturday 18th July, which is sure to be a fantastic occasion for Bobby and both Reds and Stags fans alike.
"It's taken a lot longer than I would have expected or hoped," said Hassell. "I'm thankful to the current manager for letting it happen during his pre-season. I know it's probably disruptive to what he wants to do so I really appreciate that. I appreciate the Club giving me the day.
"Hopefully there will be a lot of fans there. It's a great way to say goodbye in a proper manner."
Bobby recently returned from India where he now plays and coaches for Bharat FC.
"Whilst I've been away there have been people texting me about the game and asking me," he added. "I'd like to thank Darren Hayes and Bruce Dyer for sorting out the game whilst I was away. It's all go-ahead and I'm really thankful to everyone for it."
