Bobby Hassell is looking forward to thanking Reds fans for their support and Saturday's testimonial match against Mansfield gives him the perfect opportunity to do so.
Hassell spent 10 years with the Reds from 2004, making 299 appearances, and will lead the Reds out against his first Club, Mansfield Town, at Oakwell tomorrow.
"I'm thankful to the current Manager for allowing it to happen and the Club for giving me the day," Hassell told Barnsley PlayerHD.
"Hopefully it'll be a good day and there'll be lots of fans there. It'll be a great way to say goodbye in a proper manner.
"It's all go-ahead now and I'm really thankful for it.
"I've never been back to play against Mansfield, just to watch them, so I'm hoping some of their fans will come as I've got a lot of friends still there and I want to say thank you to them."
Bobby will lead out the current Barnsley first-team before being joined by ten ex-Reds in the second half, including David Preece, Paul Heckingbottom, Neil Austin, Paul Reid, Stephen Foster, Antony Kay, Chris Shuker, Martin Devaney, Brian Howard and Daniel Nardiello.
