Roger Tuby Fun Fair, first team open training session, autograph signing session, interviews with Lee Johnson on the Dearne FM stage and much more planned for Sunday’s Open Day!
With less than 48 hours until our 2015 Open Day sponsored by Burrows Toyota, we are pleased to provide details of the events and activities which will be taking place here at Oakwell from 11am – 3pm on Sunday!
Our annual Open Day attracts thousands to Oakwell and gives Reds fans the opportunity to meet their favourite stars and enjoy many fun activities throughout the day. On the East Stand Car Park we’ll have the main stage hosted by our friends at Dearne FM with interviews and entertainment taking place throughout the day. Plus the Roger Tuby Fun Fair will be in town providing plenty of entertainment for young Reds! There will also be a number of stalls and exhibitors situated around the main stage for fans to enjoy. The Reds Superstore will be open throughout the event, so head down and check out our 2015/16 range of Club merchandise including the 2015/16 Replica home/away kits and our new Retro PUMA jackets! The BFC Box Office will also be open so come and grab your tickets and Season Passes for the upcoming season!
On the main pitch we’ll be holding a first team open training session taken by Lee Johnson and his backroom staff. Fans are invited to sit in the East Stand Lower Tier and watch the players being put through their paces and tackling a range of training drills as we gear up for the start of the 2015/16 Season! The training session will be followed by an autograph signing session at the bottom of the East Stand where you’ll get the chance to meet your favourite Reds stars!
On the Academy training pitch (behind the North Stand) there will be an exhibition by the Barnsley Ladies football team. All girls and ladies age groups will be training on the 4G pitch throughout the day and fans are invited to watch the teams in action. The Barnsley Ladies coaches will be on hand to give information and advice to girls/ladies interested in getting involved with the Barnsley Ladies teams and you’ll also be able to register on the day!
In addition, the Barnsley FC Community Trust will be at the Open Day showcasing the range of community programmes and activities on offer through the Trust, Barnsley Football Club’s registered charity. The Community team will also be giving fans the chance to win match tickets in the Crossbar Challenge! Head over and visit the community team and get involved throughout the day.
Fan’s won’t be short of refreshment options either with the East Stand lower tier bars open throughout the event, serving up a range of food and drinks.

11:00 – 2015 Open Day begins! Entertainment kicks off on the Dearne FM stage. The Reds Superstore, Box Office and the Roger Tuby Fun Fair open!
11:45 – Lee Johnson’s interview on the Dearne FM stage.
12:00 – First Team Open Training Session starts on the Oakwell pitch.
12:45 – Autograph signing session and photos with the players at the bottom of the East Stand.
13:30 – First team players interviewed on the Dearne FM stage.
14:00 – Barnsley Ladies Head Coach interviewed on the Dearne FM stage.
15:00 – 2015 Open Day closes.
