I'll Play Anywhere For Reds - Williams

7 January 2015

Barnsley's last signing of 2014, George Williams, doesn't care where he plays for the Reds - he will always give it his all, he explained.

The right-back joined the Reds from Conference North Worcester City in late December and made his debut at right-midfield against Preston on Boxing Day. Now the 21-year-old is hopeful of his home debut this weekend against Yeovil Town.

“There are no guarantees that I’ll be starting or playing,” said Williams, speaking to Be Red. “Mason (Holgate) has done a brilliant job there at right-back. I need to just work hard in training and wherever the gaffer feels I can contribute, in whatever position, I’ll be happy to play. I just want to be on the pitch.

“You can put me in goal or put me up front, as long as I’m on the pitch, I’m happy, to be honest. It’s down to the gaffer and where he feels I can contribute. So wherever I do play, I’ll just give 100% and do my best.”

George was speaking to Saturday's matchday programme, Be Red. Don't forget to pick up your copy with the full interview plus more on Saturday from Oakwell.
