At Saturday’s game against Crewe Alexandra here at Oakwell, the Barnsley FC Community Trust were proud to be main match sponsor. The Trust's Education Team hosted the event to raise awareness of the range of courses and to strengthen links with local schools. We would like to say a huge thank you to the Barnsley FC Trust and representatives from Shafton ALC, Dearne ALC, Kirk Balk and Carlton CC who attended the game with, and we hope you all had a fantastic afternoon!
Based here at Oakwell, the Trust is the Charity arm of Barnsley Football Club and provides Sports Participation, Education, Health and Social Inclusion programmes for people across the local community. Using the vehicle of sport, physical activity, education and the brand of Barnsley FootballClub, the Trust is committed to provide high quality, accessible participation and development opportunities that positively change lives and bring enjoyable activities that are relevant to the borough.
The Trust’s range of Education courses provide young people with unique opportunities to learn and develop in a number of exciting subjects, including the ‘Introduction to Coaching’, ‘Diploma in Sport’, ‘Activity Leadership Apprenticeship’, ‘Extended Diploma in Development & Coaching’ courses, amongst others. The high quality facilities here at Oakwell provide an ideal environment to learn and embark on an exciting career in sport.
