It was the first time the winger spoke to the press since signing an extension to his current contract which keeps him at Oakwell until the summer.
"I had no doubt in my mind that this was the place for me. I felt like I've got a lot of unfinished business here.
"Initially it was about coming in and getting as many minutes under my belt as possible.
"Obviously the plan later on towards when I was playing a few games, I wanted to stay until the end of the season. I felt I'd settled in and the club's familiar to me. It was an easy decision - I didn't want to leave."
The Reds now head to Colchester United in good spirits off the back of a penalty shootout win which sent the Reds into the Area Final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - a game which he particularly enjoyed scoring in.
"I've got affection for the fans and they've got affection for me," he continued.
"It's nice for the fans to see a player just as passionate as they are. It meant everything to me that on Saturday and you could see with the way I celebrated the goal. There's no better feeling in the world. I just want them to feel as close as possible to the players as they can. To get our perspective and see how much it does mean and how we're hurting because of the position we're in.
"The incentive for us is to win this game and get out of the relegation zone.
"We just need to go into each game wanting to win as many games as possible. If we can do that and build our way up the table, that's all we can do for now."
