Johnson on Notts County

13 April 2015

Reds Head Coach Lee Johnson only has a few 'niggles' in his squad, as he prepares them for a trip to relegation strugglers Notts County tomorrow evening.

County sit third bottom in the league on 47 points, but will be galvanised following the appointment of their new Manager, Ricardo Moniz.

“We’ve got a couple of niggles that we’ve got to reassess,” said Johnson. “A couple of lads didn’t train today but I’m hopeful for tomorrow. I don’t want to give too much away.

“They’ve got a new manager come in, of course. It’s their first home game. I’ve watched their last couple of games and they’ve got threats, there’s no doubt about that. We all know Campbell-Ryce.

“I’ve played with him and he’s a character on the pitch because of his quality and the way he plays. He can galvanise a group on his home so we have to make sure we pay special attention to him.

“They’ve got some good senior pros, there’s Smith and Jones in there and Mullins. They’re the sort of characters we’re talking about if they’re going to get out of trouble, they’ll need to play well.

“It’s a good game for us because we want to go there as it’s a big stadium and big pitch and we’ll have decent travelling support – like we always have – and put a show on.”
