Barnsley’s Under 18s put in a ‘gritty and determined’ performance at Millwall on Saturday to earn a point in a 1-1 draw, says Academy Manager Ronnie Branson.
Midfielder Jack Alton scored the Reds’ goal straight from a corner as Barnsley claimed a very good point against a good Millwall side.
“We’re pleased with a point,” said Reds Academy Manager Ronnie Branson. “It was a very gritty and determined display and our lads can be proud.
“Our ‘keeper (Danny Rusling) has made a few decent saves. He, like many of the lads, has come a long way which is pleasing because that’s what it’s all about – developing these young players.
“We should have had a penalty but we can’t argue with earning point against a very good Millwall side.”
The Under 18s are next in action this Saturday (October 4th) on the Oakwell Academy pitch against Ipswich Town. The match kicks off at 1pm.
