Your Chance to Represent Barnsley in Johnstone's Paint Pot Challenge

14 October 2014

Supporters of Barnsley will be given a unique opportunity to join the club’s players for a footballing challenge – thanks to Johnstone’s Paint.

The popular Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge – run in conjunction with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy - is returning for an exciting third season, with Sky Bet League 1 outfit Barnsley the third club to take part.

Although the Tykes have been knocked out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy after defeat on penalties at Oldham, they will put their skills to the test in the Paint Pot Challenge on Monday October 20.

And one lucky Barnsley fan will have the opportunity to join the 10 players and management staff selected for the challenge as the club’s ‘11th man’ for the ultimate test of accuracy.

To enter the competition, please click and enter here before noon on Thursday October 16.

The Paint Pot Challenge sees entrants try to chip the ball from the angle of the penalty area into a giant inflatable paint pot placed on the six yard line.

A successful chip in is worth 10 points while one point is accumulated each time the paint pot is hit.

Oxford United and Fleetwood Town have been the Paint Pot Challenge victors over the last two seasons, and Barnsley will be joined by nine other clubs attempting to emulate the previous champions in 2014-15.

The successful club will claim Johnstone’s Paint products to use on a re-decoration project on one of their facilities. Portsmouth currently lead the way on 15 points.

Ben Wilde, brand and sponsorship manager for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, said: “The Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge has enjoyed a successful two seasons and we are delighted to welcome it back for 2014-15.

“It’s a big hit with players and supporters alike and the 11th man competition is a fantastic chance for one lucky supporter to join the players at the end of the training session and not only represent their club but test themselves against the professionals.

“We would like to thank Barnsley for taking part in the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge.”

More than 75,000 fans have watched clubs take on the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge over the last two seasons on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s official YouTube channel here.
