Reds Manager Danny Wilson met with the media ahead of Saturday's trip to Rochdale.
The Barnsley boss doesn't have any serious injury concerns and has welcomed the addition of Ryan Williams from Fulham.
“We've got virtually everybody available,” said Wilson. “I'd expect by Saturday we'd have a full complement. What we want to get is everybody available and that consistency.
“We've not had consistency in the team that last few weeks and we want to nail that down. It's up to the players to get that shirt and say 'get me out of the team if you can'.
“We've had some erratic performances and we want to eradicate that.
“It's about confidence and if you win a couple of games your confidence starts to rise. On the reverse side if you aren't winning games or putting your chances in, that's been our achilles heel.
“That's when confidence comes into it. You want strong characters in your team to help you back into the game.
“We have prioritised areas but it's about when players become available.”
Wilson is still hopeful of adding to his squad and hasn’t hidden the fact that a target man and ‘warrior’ are on his hitlist.
“We’ve conceded far too many goals and we need that bit of strength up the top,” he said.
“We’re under no illusions about how tough it would be. People are getting carried away with a couple of odd results we’ve had at the beginning of the season. This league is a very competitive league and physical league. As ability goes and technique goes, we’re as good as anybody in the league. But this catches a lot of people out.
“There’s some good teams in this league. As the season goes along, the tempo will drop, and there’ll be injuries, suspensions and loss of form. Teams will find it difficult to get that rhythm back.
“Hopefully, the results we get will give us the confidence to push on.
“There’s so far left in the season, to get worried or carried away with anything just astonishes me at times.
“You don’t just click your fingers and everything’s given to you, you’ve got to work hard for it. We’ve got a group of players that are prepared to do that.
“We’ve got some talented players here. Now, give these lads the opportunity and the backing, that’s when you’re going to see the best of them.
“We know there’s going to be results that go against the grain and annoy you and frustrate you, but it will happen.
“Our fans have been great, by the way. But there’s got to be an understanding it might take a bit longer than expected, but, so what? We’ll get there in the end.”
Looking at Saturday’s opponents, Rochdale, Wilson added, “I know Keith (Hill – Rochdale Manager) but don’t particularly know him well. He’s done very, very well at Rochdale.
“He seems to fit there. He’s gone back and kicked on again.
“He produces very good football teams. Will there be an added spice to it? I don’t know. From my point of view, we’re going up against a very good side.
“We’ve got to be as attack-minded as we possibly can and be more ruthless.”
