Danny's QPR Reaction

3 May 2014

Reds Manager Danny Wilson gave his thoughts following today’s final match of the season, which saw his side go down 3-2 to QPR.

“We did okay in the first half and it was quite surprising to go two goals down,” said Wilson.

"Charlie (Austin) obviously got in there to get his goal, which he always does. And the second one is a mistake, it’s an own goal.

“In the second half we got stuck in and Chris (O’Grady) has scored two great goals.

“They (youngsters) did very well. The young lads who came in showed a lot of promise today and against a quality team as well.

“I know Harry made a lot of changes, but they were taking quality out and putting quality in. That’s the benefit of having a good squad.

“The two balls we put in the box in the first few minutes of the second half came in from Dale Jennings, they were quality balls. We’ve been encouraging him to do that all season. They are opportunities you’ve got to take.

“Thankfully we got a goal from it but in the end they’ve showed their quality with the third goal and got a bit of breathing space again.

“But for large parts of the game I thought we were okay.”
